The São Lourenço Estate built during the end of the 18th century belongs now to Lígia Mexia Leitão.

Her youth was spent travelling from one city to another accompanying her father whenever he had to travel. The judge's profession did not permit him to stay for a long time in the same place.

But the São Lourenço Estate was, intrinsically, the only place they had and where they would return to after each voyage.

Later on, after her father's death, she tried to find a way not to separate herself from the house.

For it is there, where all her memories are.

After her fathers death the house was semi-abandoned for 20 years. Only in 1989, after buying her brother's share, she restored it, maintaining its original look.

The proprietor, who tried to conciliate the chosen style with the type of architecture of the house, imprinting tones and forms that resulted in a warm and pleasant environment, did all the decoration
